Den norske fiskeklubben i San Diego (The Norwegian Fish Club in San Diego) is a club of gentlemen who like to eat fish in the company of each other once per month. Joining this club is by invitation only. We eat fish, drink aquavit and maintain camaraderie with fellow members who have Norwegian ancestry or some kind of connection to Norwegian culture. We dine together one Friday evening per month except during the summer. Although women are not eligible to join, we do invite women to join us at dinner. Typically we invite our wives, girl friends, or daughters. Historically, we invited women only in December and February to observe Christmas and Valentine’s Day, but now we allow members to bring female guests at any dinner.
